The full form of MRF is Madras Rubber Factory. MRF is a private sector multinational company and also the largest manufacturer of tyres in India. MRF established in 1946 as a toy balloon manufacturing unit. It is the fourteenth largest manufacturer in the world.

MRF is headquarters is located in Chennai, India. MRF mainly deals in all kinds of tyres- Vehicle tyres, pre-treads, tubes, Conveyor belts etc.
MRF has seven manufacturing units.
MRF History
MRF was started by K.M. Mammen Mappillai.Initially it was a toy balloon manufacturing unit in 1946.
In 1949, Company start making latex cast toys, gloves and contraceptives and also established its first office in Thambu chetty, Madras (now Chennai), Tamil Naidu, India.
In 1952, the company ventured into the manufacture of tread rubber.
And within 4 Years MRF had the market share of 50% of tread rubber in India.
In 1961, MRF Company became a Public Company. And established the Tire and rubber company with collaboration of USA based Company and set up its first plant in Tiruvottiyur.
In 1964, MRF build up an overseas office in Beirut.
In 1967, MRF became 1st Company to exports tyres.
In 1970 MRF opened its second plant at Kottayam.
In 1971, the third plant of MRF inaugurated in Goa.
In 1972, MRF fourth plant started in Arakkonam.
In 1973, MRF became India’s first Company to manufacture Nylon tyres.
In 1988, MRF pace foundation was formed.
After the Year Company has expanded rapidly and give quality product to the society.
