upsc cds full form: Central Defence Services is generally abbreviated as CDS. This exam is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission i.e., UPSC. CDS is conducted twice a year for the recruitment of Commissioned Officers in the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Officers Training Academy (OTA), Indian Naval Academy (INA) and Indian Airforce Academy (IAA).
UPSC usually releases its advertisement notification in the months of October and June and examinations are conducted in the months of February and November respectively.
CDS full form
Potential candidates are selected by the commission after clearing the SSB (Services Selection Board) interview and according to final marks their respective academies are alloted.
Eligibility Criteria of CDS exam
Eligibility Criteria required for Indian Military Academy and Officers Training Academy is that you need to get graduated from any recognized University .
For the Indian Naval Academy it requires an Engineering degree from a recognized University.
For the Air Force Academy you must have passed 12th with Physics and Math, Secondly you should have an Engineering or Graduation Degree.

Age Limit
Age limit for Indian Airforce Academy, Indian Naval Academy and Indian Military Academy is 19 to 24 years while Officers Training Academy has the age limit from 19 to 25 years.
Physical Standards
Candidates must be fit and fine according to standards provided by UPSC in their notification.

Intelligence And Personality Test
The SSB screening comprises a two-stage Selection process – stage I and stage II. Only those up-and-comers who effectively clear the stage I SSB meet are allowed to show up for stage II.
(a) Stage I contains Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) tests are Picture Perception* Description Test (PPDT). The applicants will be shortlisted in view of the mix of execution in the OIR Test and PPDT.
(b) Stage II Comprises Interview, Group Testing Officer Tasks, Psychology Tests, and the Conference. These tests are more than 4 days long. The subtleties of these tests are given on the Indian Army profession portal.
The character of a competitor is surveyed by three unique assessors viz. The Interviewing Officer (IO), Group Testing Officer (GTO), and the Psychologist. There is no different weightage for each test. The imprints are designated by assessors solely after thinking about the exhibition of the competitor comprehensively in every one of the tests.
For Indian Airforce Academy
All competitors who apply for the Air Force through more than one source will be tried/met at the Air Force Selection Boards just a single time for Air Force. Normal applicants who come up short in Computer Pilot Selection System (CPSS) and additionally Pilot Aptitude Battery tests as a NCC or Airmen up-and-comer will be called again for OLQ testing for Army/Navy/OTA provided that it is observed that they have applied through CDS Exam.
