Assam is among the biggest states of the northeast region. In detail we can say that it is located in the south of Eastern Himalayas along the Brahmaputra and Barak River Valleys . If we look its at its boundary which is about 201.51 kms and its shares its border with Nagaland, Manipur, Bangladesh and West Bengal.

These cultivation and other needs of water are fulfilled by Brahmaputra river it is because this river covers greater part of Assam than compared to Barack river; that is why Brahmaputra river is known as “Life-Line of Assam”

Society and culture
Assam is known for housing multiple ethic-society and it has a diverse culture with the shuffled races like Aryans, Indo-Burmese, Indo-Iranians, Mongoloids, etc. People living in Assam are commonly known as Assomiya and Assamese in English. Majority of peoples in Assam are Hindu and Vaishnavas and they mainly worship Lord Vishnu as their main deity. Apart from this Buddhism, Christianity, Islam etc is also practiced.
In terms of tribal terms , here numerous tribes like Bodo, Kachari, Karbi, Miri, Mishimi, etc are found and each tribe possess different culture, tradition, style and way of talking too
